Academy123 is an online education platform for the rapid development and delivery of multimedia content. The company, under the leadership of the Iteration Group team, pioneered the “listen and view” instructional format (later popularized by Khan Academy). Academy123 enabled hundreds of teachers to work from home and record over 50,000 mini-videos aligned with the most commonly-used math textbooks in the U.S. Its flagship math product was licensed to AOL and rebranded “AOL Step by Step Math.” The company was acquired by Discovery Communications in May 2006.
- Wireframed and designed the entire platform, enabling hundreds of teachers to record content, enabling dozens of quality-control personnel to review the content, and automatically making the content available to students around the world.
- Designed and Developed a number of products, including math homework help, SAT Test Prep, and SAT Essay Feedback
- Launched the math homework help product and marketed it directly to consumers (software as a service, monthly fee)
- Designed, built, and launched Android app for restaurants to receive orders
